Location: PCS IBS, Daejeon, South Korea

Scientific coordinators: Se Kwon Kim (Korea)

                                     Sukbum Chung (Korea)

                                     Moon Jip Park (Korea)

                                     Yong-il Shin (Korea)

                                     Jee-Hoon Kim (Korea)

Organizers: Gileun Lee (IBS PCS)

                    Jaehee Kwon (IBS PCS)

Overview:

Topological solitons are ubiquitous objects in complex condensed matter systems. The representative examples are skyrmions in magnets, vortices in superconductors, and Majorana fermions in topological superconductors. In this workshop, we would like to bring together theoretical and experimental experts on the related phenomena in quantum materials including, but not limited to, magnets, superfluids, superconductors, and multiferroics. We aim to share the cutting-edge research developments in the related field and discuss the universal physics of topological soliton.

Topics include:

  1.  Topological superfluids

  2. Majorana fermions & Topological materials

  3. Skyrmions & Spintronics

  4. Non-equilibrium quantum phases
