Below a certain critical energy, quantum dots undergo a localisation transition in Fock space. In this non-ergodic phase, which bears a similarity to the many-body localised regime, electrons do not thermalise on the dot.

In this talk, the non-equilibrium transport properties of a quantum dot in the Coulomb blockade regime are investigated using the quantum kinetic equation. In the absence of thermalisation, a double-step feature appears in the distribution on the dot. This then leads to a peak in the conductance which could be used as a method for determining whether a quantum dot is in the non-thermalised regime.
