OVERVIEW

This Advanced Study Group will concentrate on the physics of open many-body quantum systems and its relations to classical dissipative chaos. Our aim is to uncover genetic links between the two theories similar to how it was done for Hamiltonian systems. We plan to operate not on the level of mean-filed approximations but work in the framework of spectral properties of dissipative operators, both quantum and classical ones. An interpretation of dissipative chaos signatures in quantum systems such as QED cavities and cold atomic gases is our second objective.
